Tonganoxie hosted their invitational on Tuesday, 09/22/2020 and had much success for both the girls and boys programs.
Varsity girls fell to Manhattan (47), to finish 2nd overall as a team with 50 points. Top 10 finishers included Kristi Chambers, who finished 5th with a time of 21:14 and Kyleigh Thomas, who finished 8th with a time of 22:00 flat. Other scorers included Brooklyn Lang who finished 13th with a 22:42, Kinnley Hoffhines who finished 16th with a 22:50 and Grace Slabaugh who finished 20th with a time of 23:38.
Macy Geiger finished with a time of 24:24 in the girls JV race to take home a top 5 medal.
Varsity boys fell to Manhattan (26) and Piper (68), to finish 3rd overall as a team with 69 points. Eli Gilmore was the top male runner, placing 1st overall in the race and setting a new PR of 16:52. Other scorers included Chas Gilmore, who finished 13th with a time of 18:54, Brandon Wilson, who finished 16th with a time of 19:27, Gabe Reischman, who finished 17th with a time of 19:34, and Jonah Stephen, who finished 22nd with a time of 19:52.
Ben Farrar finished with a time of 19:27 in the boys JV race to take home a top 5 medal.
Up next: Tonganoxie XC Program will host another meet this Saturday, 09/26 against Leavenworth County schools. The race was organized after Rim Rock was cancelled due to the pandemic, however there are high hopes that perhaps a new traditional amongst our schools will be established. Girls (JV/Varsity) kick off the meet at 3:00 PM and boys to follow at 3:45PM.
