Boys Boys Cross Country Cross Country · THS hosts first ever Leavenworth County XC meet: Boys Varsity take 3rd, JV takes 1st


Tonganoxie High School hosted a Leavenworth County XC meet on Saturday, 09/26/2020. This was the first time in history that such a meet has taken place between the five high schools (Tonganoxie, Leavenworth, Lansing, Basehor and Pleasant Ridge); a historic moment for a historic 2020 season.

It was a great day to be a Chieftain, as the boys Varsity team placed 3rd overall and the boys JV team placed 1st overall, despite temperatures being high, in the 90’s and heavy winds.

The boys Varsity scored 68 points, falling to Lansing (34) and Basehor (55). Eli Gilmore placed 2nd overall with a time of 17:31, Chas Gilmore placed 8th overall with a time of 19:30, Ben Farrar placed 14th overall with a time of 20:45, Nick Edholm placed 20th overall with a time of 21:14, and Brandon Wilson placed 24th overall with a time of 21:47.

The boys JV team scored 25 points, finishing 1st overall. Nolan Rogers placed 2nd overall with a time of 21:21, Cole Holmgren placed 3rd overall with a time of 22:21, Michael Bottary finished 4th overall with a time of 22:31, Samuel Manus finished 5th overall with a time of 22:51 and Robby Patterson finished 16th overall with a time of 24:45.

The teams travel to Perry for a meet this Thursday.
